An Ode to Librarians Everywhere!
I love libraries. I used them as kid and I still do today. Yes, I read books. And magazines and newspapers and check out DVDs and CDs. I love to sit in libraries and work or just while away the time. Kids doing homework, folks getting online, community meetings. All of it.
Not only do I like libraries, I’m the first to admit that I have a thing for librarians too.
Personally my life was changed by one librarian in particular. My own private librarian, my college sweetheart who answered my every question with a stack of books and articles the next night at dinner. The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the mid-70's. Doc and Al. She was and still is my Sugar Magnolia. To her I dedicate this Ode to Librarians (PDF).
Raw data can be organized into information but it often takes a librarian to extract the wisdom within.
