I’ve lived in Seattle for just shy of 40 years. In that time my taste and beer has changed. I love me some IBUs. Given my proximity to Yakima WA, global center of hops cultivation, it no surprise that I reach for true PNW IPAs without hesitation. Bitter is better.
When shopping I gravitate towards No-Li (great beer, reasonable prices), Fremont Brewing (study the blackboard), Bale Breaker (the names & art on the cans makes me smile), and of course Lagunitas Brewing.
Want an wide selection while in Seattle? One word: alehouse. If I had to pick two (and I just did) Beveridege Place Pub (no, not a typo) and Chuck’s Hop Shop in side Third Place Books (a true double header: books & beer). No list of uniquely Cascadia beer experiences would be complete witout highlighting the McMenamins, outstanding beer and homeSweetHome for deadheads. Ultimagely it’s damn near impossible to find bad beer in The Evergreen State.
Some of us think of beer as liquid bread not booze.
Please tell me the tap isn’t where I think it is.
Keep your sours and hard ciders to yourself. Kombucha? It costs more than beer and doesn’t get you drunk.
You want me to think when I’m drunk?! I drink when I don’t want to think.
